HOT ROD SURF BBQ IX 12-17-06 The SD hot rod scene is still alive! Big Time shout out to all of you who attended the semi-annual HOT ROD SURF Hot Rodders BBQ, kept it positive and family oriented, brought out your hot rods, guitars, and choppers and had a good time! The event was almost rained out but the weather gods shined on our side and it cleared up turning into a perfect sunny San Diego afternoon! Some of the highlights where a bunch of Hot Rod Surf choppers and hot rods on display, local artist Boogieman painting a crazy Hot Rod Surf inspired Tiki canvas, killer live music set by the world famous Deadbolt, delicious BBQ food from JP’s mom, appearances by Pacific Beach Town Mayor Carl, Pete from the Green Leaf, Eric from the 50’s dinner Marie’s Cafe, super attorneys Bo Solis and John Von Passenheim, new Hot Rod Surf sponsored surf team rider Cubbs, local artist Thatcher, Hot Rod Surf Pin-Up Girls Megan, Mia, and Joesofine (aka ‘Little One’), some cool dudes and chicks (that really do own and drive hot rods) from the SD Car Clubs the ‘Illegals’, the SDRC, Road Kings, Over the Hill Gang, The Skirts, and the Lifters, live music sets from the Dead Sled Demons and the Bandits, and the unveiling of MWM’s 1932 All Steel All Real five window Hot Rod Surf chopped and tricked out black deuce coupe.
